Many students are visual learners, and convection is one of the concepts that is difficult to grasp, yet consistently comes up throughout Earth Science. This model will help students to see and understand how convection works, which is a key concept in the Earth's natural dynamic process. Convection is tied to the movement in the Earth's crust which drives the whole process of plate tectonics in the mantle. It is also related to air masses and fronts, ocean currents, and more! I will use this model throughout several different units to emphasize and help students to internalize this important science concept!
