Chromebooks are an integral part of my students’ educational journey. My incredible students use chromebooks each and every day! Here are just a few of the ways we utilize this technology in our classroom: Creating exciting presentations and comic strips to showcase our learning, interacting with various hyperdocs to learn about machine building and to create our own machines to solve problems, researching many varied topics, as well as, using them for interactive reading, writing and math programs. My students are very technologically savvy and depend on the chromebooks to enhance and enrich our daily learning. Unfortunately, we have no safe, clean place to store or charge our chromebooks. They are currently sitting in crates in the back of the classroom on a table. Since they are not secured in a cart, they cannot be locked for protection. Additionally, dust and dirt settle on top of the chromebooks and I am concerned that they will cease to work effectively as the dirt rests on them month and after month. The back table they sit on could be put to much better use if the chromebooks were in a cart. Students could work together, partner read and do art on this table. My students and I would be so grateful for a clean, safe place to store and charge our chromebooks. It would be great to be able to use them for a long time!
