Reading is a very important part of our daily schedule. Students coming into 2nd grade are always at a variety of different reading levels - which leads to many levels of differentiation. Some of our students enter 2nd grade reading fluently on or above grade level, some are beginning to read single words, and some may still be learning to blend sounds to make words. These books and materials will help my students dive into books and help their reading skills while hearing about their favorite characters. These materials will give them the opportunity to have a close up look of the words and have the ability to follow along better than seeing the book on a computer screen. Hearing the words being read and having the ability to physically follow along with the reader will help my students focus on words they wouldn't know how to read without assistance. With these books, my students on every level will have something to follow along with. I believe that the books I have chosen will appeal to the age and interests of my kiddos. Like I tell my students - The best way to improve in reading is to READ, READ, READ!
