As a first year teacher, I am very excited to introduce flexible seating in my classroom. My students have a lot of energy and I think having flexible seating options will give them the opportunity to bounce or wiggle around during instruction time. My ultimate goal is to have flexible seating options for all students in my classroom. For a class that switches for each subject, I find it important to think about all of the students and how they will benefit. Looking at the grade as a whole, I truly believe having these options will greatly increase their engagement throughout the day. For example, the stability balls can be used during large groups instruction time on the floor, as well as during individual reading time or work time. The cushions can be used during desk work time, as well and small group time. I find it very important that my students have seating options because so many of them learn in different ways.
