This year I have noticed that my students have been carrying around anime books and other graphic novels and illustrated chapter books. Over the summer I purchased a graphic illustration of Anne Frank's diary. When I showed it to my students I had so many of them sign up to check out the book from my classroom library. I would love for more of my students to utilize my library by offering them a wider variety of historical graphic novels. These graphic novels are accessible to a wider range of reading levels because of the use of dialogue and eye catching imagery.
