We specifically selected each book title in this list from previous student recommendations, students' own reading wish lists, and other local school libraries (since we don't have our own school library). We also researched professional book recommendations, such as from Penny Kittle's "Reluctant Reader List." By funding these books, you will be providing our 9th grade students with more opportunities to fall in love with reading, to expand their worlds, and to access contemporary books with characters that reflect their demographics, identities, interests, and experiences. Thank you so much for considering supporting our project and making a difference for our students! These books will live in our classroom library for many years to come and are accessible to all students in our building in addition to our current freshmen.
