The middle school students that visit the counseling office are often going through emotional and sometimes traumatic times in their lives. The counseling office is always busy with students trying to cope with relationships, academics, family and personal issues. Adolescents are experiencing the most physical and emotional changes in their lives. They are often dealing with dysfunctional families, poverty, emotional issues, academic struggles and struggling with social skills. It's a tough time in a child's life! In the counseling office we offer a place to decompress and learn coping strategies for life's ups and downs. We can't always solve the problems but we can help the students re-focus and bring the positive attributes to the forefront. Students at this age need a lot of understanding and patience. Humor and food help as well!

About my class
