With a flexible seating classroom, my students need to be able to take their books on the go! They have the freedom to move anywhere in the room to help them be successful in their learning. Right now, that's a bit difficult because our cardboard book bins are falling apart. With these sturdier book bins, they'll be able to move from smart spot to smart spot without any hassle. But wait--my first graders are becoming more and more independent every day, and they need books to fill these bins! Books that they can read on their own. I would love nothing more than to support every reader in my classroom by providing books at their just-right reading level. These books will help enrich my little book worms as they grow and develop into lifelong readers. The library is already a place that my students enjoy, with a cozy carpet and regular read-alouds and discussions. My students have shown that they want to be independent readers, and this project will help supply the books we need to get them there. I can use these books for guided reading time to introduce them to any tricky words, and then they can add these to their brand-new book bins to revisit with confidence!
