Our K/1 students love to read, but are struggling to fully engage in writing. As a school we are switching our writing curriculum to Craft Plus. Craft Plus uses mentor texts to guide lessons on different writing techniques. By using these books my students love, they will be able to see and hear the different styles and skills they can use in their writing. This will help our students become more engaged in the writing lessons and guide them to become better writers. Each daily writing lesson uses a trade book as a model to illustrate the Target Skill to be taught on that day.
