Flexible seating has allowed my kindergarten students to take responsibility for their learning. So far, our classroom has 5 ball chairs as flexible seating options. Not only are the ball chairs enhancing attention span and allowing my students to get out the extra energy that they have built up (especially during these winter months when we cannot go outside for recess), but they are also allowing for a much more comfortable seating option than a standard chair. I have seen a world of difference in each child's learning ability since these have been added to our classroom. By adding these extra options of flexible seating, my students will have the opportunity to choose their seat each morning that best suits their learning needs. The products that I have selected will give my students different options to choose from. Having more options such as wobble stools, floor seats, and lap desks will empower my students to do their best work while sitting in different areas of the room, on different kinds of seating. I believe that allowing my students to have this freedom will maximize their learning potential.
