Flexible seating allows my students to be in charge of their learning environment. These different options give students the opportunity to find a space where they feel they will be the most successful. Right now in our classroom, students have the option to sit anywhere in the room to work. We have two wobble stools already which are often picked by students. We also have a low table with crate chairs and a standing desk. Besides these choices, students are often seen laying on the ground working. My students are most successful when they are in charge of their learning environment and picking a work space that they feel is appropriate for them. Wobble stools and ball chairs will allow more students to use flexible seating options at their desks or around the room. When working around the room, students can use clipboards or counter space as well as a flexible seating option instead of a traditional desk.
