Every year I discuss hygiene with my middle school students, and educate them about their changing bodies and how they can take care of themselves as their needs change and they become more independent. I envision giving each of our 6-8th grade students a hygiene bag, to include deodorant, soap, toothpaste and a toothbrush. Our girls need access to maxi pads as well, so I would include these and have extra supplies in our nurses office. These items can be so expensive and our families often don't have extra money in their budget for hygiene products. This would greatly help!
