The book "Of Mice and Men", will be a great book to start off with teaching my students about not only characterization, but complex characters. I will have the students fill out a characterization graphic organizer that will help the students understand and get to know their character better. This graphic organizer will include understanding, and describing the characters words, thoughts, goals, and actions. The students will also draw their character based on what they described them as. A two page paper will be the last project and will give details on how their complex character differs from the other characters.
