These different seating options will allow my students to move around the room and choose a place to sit where they learn best. With having students who need to be constantly moving, the different seating options will allow them to move, without distracting others or staying off task. Students learn better where they are comfortable. If they are made to sit in one seat all day long without being able to move around, students start to lose focus. Flexible seating will let my students have control of their learning. My students work a lot independently with my classroom being a split grade level. Allowing them to move around the room to a place where they won't be distracted allows me to focus on teaching the other grade. Right now when they work, I allow them to sit around the room with clipboards, sit at the kidney tables, or on the carpet. I would like to give them more options that allow them to release their energy a bit, instead of distracting others. Kids need to move around throughout the day. My students are more engaged in lessons and less disruptive of their peers when they get to choose where they sit. I truly believe that these different seating options will have a positive impact on my students' learning.
