One of the art units my students will be participating in this year is a self-portrait project. At any age, recognizing their own identity is an important skill for self-expression. I would love for my students to have the chance to create work that represents who they are as individuals. I teach at a Title I school in NYC, with students living blocks away from the epicenter of the Covid outbreak. Funding this project means my students can get some much-needed supplies that would be included in a special art kit for in-person and remote learning. My students come from rich, diverse backgrounds and they deserve art supplies that reflect the amazing artists they are!

About my class
