My students will use the materials chosen to create their best version of Aladdin Kids. They are working very hard on their singing, dancing, and acting, and now, we need to add costumes, props and sets. They need these resources to help them physically create the world that they have built within their imaginations. Bringing royalty, beggars, skeletons, and more to life will require some lavish materials. For example, we are hoping to get various colored harem pants that we will use for the Guards, Princes and Agrabahns. In addition, we need to put flats on wheels, paint numerous everyday items gold for treasure found in the Cave of Wonders, and provide horns and ribbon streamers for Prince Ali's Entourage. My students, and their parents, are truly experiencing the magic of theatre for the first time in their lives. This production is creating friendships, broadening communication skills, and making new dreams that my students didn't even know that they had become a reality.
