I teach guidance classes each day focusing on kindness, integrity, tolerance and compassion. I do not have many Social Emotional Learning supplies as this is my first year as a school counselor. I love to start my lessons with a read aloud, so the books will be so beneficial to have in my class. The Soft Seats will give my students the ability to use flexible seating while listening to stories and doing independent work as I do not have desks/chairs in my room. I will be forever grateful to add activities and literature that can help my babies to better understand their feelings and emotions, as well as the emotions of others. Students are coming to school with little to no knowledge on sharing, getting along with others, being compassionate towards others etc., therefore I feel it is essential to teach them what this looks like, feels like and sounds like. We role play often, making them a part of their learning. We have seen beautiful results in this teaching as our discipline numbers are decreasing. Thank you for giving me this opportunity.
