Flexible seating allows my students to choose where they work and with whom. It also allows them to change their locations and positions as needed. I have found through my 25 years of teaching that traditional desk in rows isolate students from each other. I will use flexible seating in my classroom for small groups, whole groups discussions, or while they are paired up with others to work. One important fact is flexible seating will stimulate students' sense of touch. The whole idea of flexible seating is to create a more comfortable environment that helps the students be their best learning selves.
