Do you remember the excitement of going outside for recess as a child? I want our students to experience the joy of "Coding History" by allowing them freedom to create, practice, and try out a new content field. The Sphero robot can be programmed to roll, stop, verbalize historical events and continue along a timeline. Students collaborate to refine robot speed, sounds, vocalizations, lights, and progress. Projects include coding timelines, maps, empire expansion, and trade routes. By using technology that makes sound, flashes color and navigates a timeline of historical events, the students can recreate the joy of playing with the content of world history. "Coding History" with Sphero Sprk+ robots allows my students experiences to increase college or career readiness.
