My class is a special needs hearing impaired preschool class located in a high poverty area in North Carolina. These special children can begin preschool at age 3 and will often stay in my class for two years before moving on to kindergarten. An important part of our program is learning through play, where the teachers act as facilitators in the children's learning. Playing allows the children to experience learning in an environment that is designed to meet their special needs.
