Technology is very appealing to modern day students. An iPad will not take the place of traditional classroom materials, but will provide a multimedia learning style for certain students. For a lot of my students, increased attention is a great deficit, and the use of modern technology is a great way to keep their attention. There are tons of educational applications that I would love to use in addition to traditional therapy services. Many students are multi-sensory learners. Some students are visual, audio and tactile learners. The multipurpose iPad will appeal to each type of learner with the possibility of audio books, pre-handwriting and writing apps, educational books and videos. The use of this technology can also prepare students for future schools and careers that are technology-driven. It is important for them to learn the appropriate use of this device and to take advantage of it as a learning tool and a valuable resource.
