My students will learn the first grade math curriculum by engaging in hands-on math activities using the math manipulatives. Students will learn number sense by using base ten blocks, number lines and counting games. Students will explore 2-D and 3-D shapes with the actual shapes! Students will engage in a variety of hands-on cooperative group games to help them dig deeper into numbers! Students will rotate around to the different math stations that will incorporate these manipulatives. They will have time to explore and learn math in a meaningful way! Students will also be able to take these manipulatives home in a "math take home bag" to practice with their family!
