I hope to give my second graders the ability to increase their reading for pleasure by building an awesome classroom library with books, magazines and technology. Our students are reading to learn but hopefully will improve their fluency and comprehension via many literary experiences. Some of our Title I students do not have the access needed to expand their vocabulary and exposure to different life experiences. Students will enjoy grade level books and exciting magazines and website access through our Scholastic purchases of magazines and books. Students will have access to activity sheets projected for whole group learning and many fiction and nonfiction articles and novels. The children can build a library at home with the magazines that they get to keep.
