Technology is a huge part of everyday life. These students need the exposure to typing and using various programs prior to entering middle school. iPads are useful but they don’t prepare kids for college. Many of my students have never had typing experience and we have recently lost our computer classes since they were replaced with STEM. Chromebooks would give students a chance to utilize technology daily in their centers. They could collaborate and complete centers online cutting down on paper usage. Since we do not have set curriculum we make copies more than the average teacher. I would love to cut this down with the use of technology.
