Flexible seating is the next great idea for classrooms. Every teacher wants to be the teacher who follows the 'new' innovative idea and elevate their teaching to the future. But, seriously, my students are not the students who should be placed in a regular learning environment. They have a real need for different and open-minded teaching and in this case - open-minded, alternative seating. My school is an alternative gifted program and doesn't get the funding like the other schools in the district get. We are second to other priorities. I am asking for someone who can help to get me started on a set of chairs that will help my students focus on learning. New research supports giving students alternative ways to sit - fostering focus and hence, improving learning.
