My students can benefit from the items I chose in our every day classroom lessons, one on one sessions, small group sessions, and when a student needs to come to my room to calm down. All of the items I chose will be a great asset to my school counseling program. I teach classroom guidance to Kindergarten through 5th grade daily. My students love when I read them books that reflect on our character traits, social skills, and conflict resolution. We do a variety of hands on activities after each book we read. Students are able to earn "lego time" with me for positive behavior each week. This really helps our students who are at risk work towards becoming a better student and staying on task. Each item I have chosen on my list will benefit my students in school and out of school as well as allowing them to grow as a student, friend, and child. I want to be able to provide them with many resources to achieve my goal as a school counselor.
