The tower garden project will allow my students to experience food from "Farm to Fork." They will be involved in the entire process from planting seeds to growing fresh fruits and vegetables rich with vitamins and minerals and full of fiber. Next, students will participate in choosing appropriate recipes for the produce we are harvesting. As they work collaboratively to prepare REAL food, which they have grown in our classroom, they are also learning a variety of cooking methods and using various kitchen utensils and equipment. My students will have so many opportunities to try foods they have never seen or heard of before, like bok choy. The life skills students will gain from this are priceless, however, the nutritional value of this tower garden project is infinite.
