My students are extremely excited about STEM projects. They are familiar with solar power and wind energy. They are able to experiment with these two forms of renewable energy by building solar-powered vehicles and wind turbines. This experimentation is in collaboration with a thematic unit taught on renewable energy sources. In addition to experimenting, students calculate the swept area of wind-turbines and summarize components of clean energy. By donating to our project, students will be able to experiment with a missing piece of the renewable energy puzzle- hydro-power! Students will use the hydro-power science kits to create various types of inventions that will demonstrate the benefits of using hydro-power as a renewable energy source. As a result, students will increase their overall understanding and appreciation for renewable energy. Most importantly, by funding our project you will satisfy my students’ passion for STEM.
