My students live in a rural, low income district where 100 % of my students receive free lunches. Many are faced with challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. It is important for my students to have tools in the classroom that provide them with fun, interactive, and meaningful learning opportunities. Children learn best with hands-on experiences that allow them to explore and be creative. I am asking for materials to make brain bags for my students. Each student will get their own brain bag for the week that they can use during arrival time, as an early finisher, or any extra spare time that we have. Brain bags will be sprayed and quarantined over the weekend so that they are ready for the next student on Monday. Each brain bag will provide a student with unique hands-on activities and may include Legos, brain flakes, tangrams, puzzles, and other fun and engaging materials. These activities will promote curiosity and problem solving skills in my students. When students are interested and engaged in what they are doing, it fosters a wonderful learning environment and even better learning opportunities.
