I try to incorporate read aloud story time in my classroom as much as possible. I think that students can learn a lot from listening to someone read to them, regardless of their age. Some of my favorite memories from my own education include the stories my teachers read to me. Too often, we only focus on academics, rather than the whole child, when it comes to our students. I would like to incorporate stories into my classroom library that focus on character development and becoming the best version of yourself. Peter Reynolds has a collection of books that does just that, and I would love to include them in my beginning of the year lessons.
