This year I want to give my students more options, independence, and freedom. The materials of the project will allow them to have flexible seating options around the room. The organization items will make it easier for students to obtain their own materials and choose their own learning activities. I also want to set up a listening center. My students love listening to stories but first graders are still learning how to read. They want to read more complex stories but cannot always read the words. A listening center will give them access to higher-level texts and expose them to a rich range of vocabulary.
