We have a beautiful new building! But it does not have classroom bookshelves. This shelving project will provide my students with access to a classroom library that is leveled to meet their needs and organized by genre so they can quickly find the books they enjoy. My ESL and reading recovery students want to read, but they need easy access to books they enjoy at a level that challenges but doesn't frustrate. Students who will not read aloud in other classrooms will read aloud in our class. We have a safe environment where all students feel successful with each level of growth. They know they need to become independent readers who can successfully perform at grade level in all of their classes. This classroom library will help them achieve that goal.
