My students are beginning to understand 3D design. We are using tinkercad, and soon hope to progress to Fusion 360. Designing is only half the process. The students want to see how this object on the screen will result in an actual object. The students are amazed by the digital caliper and are anxious to see their designs become reality. When I introduced the caliper, to illustrate the actual size and dimensions, the students excitement grew exponentially. Students are designing awards to hand out for honor roll, attendance, etc. We will also print out science cell models to enhance learning. The opportunities to expand to every subject is endless.
