We were recently given a sensory table to use in our combination classroom. The table gives us the opportunity to provide calming sensory activities for all students and lets us get messy with STEM activities. With these materials, students will get a chance to practice literacy skills through sensory play, and participate in many hands-on developmentally appropriate engineering activities. The sensory table is our favorite area in the classroom. Working at this station allows my students to practice social-emotional skills by working together, taking turns, and communicating with each other. It gives us a contained space to experiment and learn together!
