Students will have time weekly in small group activities that will include TIME for Kids magazine. These magazines will give my 4th graders access to grade level non-fiction materials in an exciting, personal way. The excitement of receiving their own weekly magazine will help create greater engagement from my students during their non-fiction reading time. It's so rewarding to see their faces get excited about getting something in the mail at school that they will be able to keep for their own and take home to share with their families. TIME for Kids is organized in an engaging way, with colorful photographs, charts, graphs, and interesting topics that spark the interest of the students. It helps begin some very interesting conversations and allows students to learn about people and places all around the world. The addition of this resource will be helpful in reaching the interests of the many different types of students that are in my classroom this year.
