Students must have access to a variety of diverse young adult literature, both to see themselves in books and to learn about other lives and experiences. For these reasons, it is important to have diverse reading options available for students in the classroom. Our district values choice and independence. We want students to choose books that will engage them for their independent reading experiences. By making diverse options available, students' worlds will grow. With the creation of classroom libraries, teachers will be able to recommend books and get them into students' hands immediately. Students will also be able to see the value of books as teachers promote them in the classroom.

About my class
