When training for the pole vault, it helps to have the pole you need every day at practice to get used to and get confident on. Right now, we train on whatever we have in stock, then go to meets and ask to borrow poles other teams' poles. Besides being really awkward, it limits the amount of success our athletes may experience because they aren't familiar with the length, weight or bend of the pole. It is kind of hit and miss. The pole vault is a costly event, with poles ranging from $400-$1000. The poles vary in length and weight depending on the size and ability of the athlete. When you have 12 vaulters this gets really expensive!
