I am a Math Specialist who works with small groups during interventions with grades K and 1. Due to limited space, my "classroom" set up is in a general common space area ( the hallway). I have to be creative with my space and the materials I use as well. I travel between 6 different classrooms and pull my small groups into the hallway for my instruction. The tub storage at the bottom of this easel will help me carry all of my materials between classrooms. My students and I would really benefit from a teaching easel. As a Math Interventionist, my students often require large visual aids and manipulatives to help with their understanding of mathematical concepts. At the moment, I have only one dry-erase board to work with, which is not magnetic or large. This makes instruction difficult at times. The easel will allow me to use magnetic numbers, letters, geometric shapes and various tools to teach concepts. Using manipulatives and allowing students to participate on this whiteboard will not only motivate them, it will also reinforce the concepts they are learning both in small group and in their own classrooms.
