Third graders are just learning the importance of math in their everyday lives. They just need hands on activities to help cement the importance of having a strong understanding of basic math concepts. These games and manipulatives were hand picked to excite them. Games and manipultaives are the perfect way light their love of learning. Students love to play computerized but they also need to learn the rules for playing games and rules for playing games with their peers. They still need to manipulate and play with numbers and concepts inorder to enhance their mathmatical skills. My third graders love to play games with eachother, just like we did when we were young!
