The books I usually use for these units are missing pages and badly damaged. Romeo and Juliet is one unit that we always do for 9th grade and it is very obvious that the books have been used for many years. It has been a problem recently that my students are able to find a complete book that isn't falling apart. The book, Breathing Underwater is one that I feel has an important theme for teens. It deals with a student who abuses his girlfriend and the lessons he learns after being ordered to write about his relationship by the court.
