Students love to be able to manipulate letters when working on the spelling of words. These magnetic letters are also color coded with the vowels being red and the consonants being blue. This visually helps students to see that each word needs a vowel. The magnetic letters are also helpful for students who have fine motor control to still have the experience of spelling the words and working on the letter order, but taking out the frustration of proper letter formation. If we go from in person instruction to virtual, students will be able to take the letters home with them and allow for continued engaging practice that mirrors what we have been doing in class.
