Being a teenager is hard enough as it is, and for many students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, these challenges are magnified. The Best Buddies Club is a place where students can learn important pro-social skills as well as develop friendships with individuals they might not cross paths with otherwise. The Best Buddies meetings involve lots of activities to help facilitate conversations and just to have fun. Music is a powerful tool to bring people together; this has been my witness as a Best Buddies Club advisor year after year. To help facilitate this, a speaker would help so everyone can hear the music, rather than just a few people on someone's phone. Additionally, we have many club announcements that need to be made where the use of a microphone would greatly assist.
