In science, it is so important to be both accurate and precise when setting up and performing an investigation. Electronic weighing scales and balances are important pieces of science equipment that will meet the needs of the versatile labs presented in the 8th grade curriculum. With so many old triple beam balances in my classroom, I would love to show my students how to efficiently and properly measure mass with an up to date electronic scale. With a more accurate and precise electronic scale, I would be able to show my students the law of conservation of mass. Electronic scales would allow my students to have confidence in their data while performing an investigation in the science lab.
