One focus of my instruction is increasing my students' ability to explain and defend their thinking. This really allows them to grow in their critical thinking skills. The whiteboard supplies will help in this area because they provide an easy alternative to traditional pen and paper. Students are more comfortable sketching out their reasoning on a whiteboard because it allows for easy corrections and changes. Creating a visual representation of their thinking is an important part of their growth as a mathematician and scholar. These whiteboard supplies will provide my students with another means to express themselves and explain their thinking.
