On August 29th, 2021, Hurricane Ida stormed the river parishes in Louisiana. Due to the catastrophic events caused by this storm, the schools and homes in the majority of our community were destroyed. Upon arriving at the school six weeks later, the students have survival and recovery stories to tell. These stories are part of the healing process. This project is the perfect opportunity to involve the students in this healing process of recovering from the hurricane while providing them a medium to telling their story. They will write and film scripts to be documented by them at their homes and activities as our community recovers.

About my class
