Knowledge of current events and community empower students of all ages to become active participants in our world. It is my goal to provide my 5th grade learning support students with an enriching, up to date opportunity to read about news in the world and their community that is on their reading level. Our regular education 5th graders receive a 5th grade level current event weekly brochure to supplement their curriculum. Unfortunately, my learning support students are on reading levels well below 5th grade and are not able to read these publications. Learning about current events should be an experience all children are entitled to reguardless of their reading levels.

About my class
