During our energy unit we do a variety of hands on labs and experiments with different types of energy. My students sometimes struggle with the concepts of electricity and electrical energy since they are tiny and invisible. Before I became a teacher, I worked for 13 years a museum where I ran presentations about electricity using the largest Van De Graaff generator in the world! I would LOVE to be able to bring some of that excitement into my classroom with a smaller Van De Graaff Generator. Kids will participate in hair raising experiments, testing the strength of electric force and how far it can travel!
