The use of iPads in a classroom for students with Autism can greatly impact the lives of these students in multiple ways. Many children with Autism are unable to communicate their basic wants and needs verbally. Having technology available to them can be a major step in helping them overcome this challenge. There are many apps that are able to give these children a voice of their own. Giving nonverbal students a voice is only one benefit of technology for these wonderful and deserving students. Another use for this technology is in helping students reach their academic goals. Many students with Autism have a difficult time learning the "conventional" way. This technology would help these students tap into their own, personal way of learning. This project will have a huge impact on the lives of many students. Through this project, I hope to give a voice to students who cannot speak and show them that they are capable of much more than they can ever imagine!
