These materials will help my students' learning by providing in-class connections with everyday scenarios. For example, the basic math skills workbooks will help the students increase their knowledge for basic math in order to progress to and/or above grade level. Basic math skills are used in daily living involving counting money, decimals, fractions, and the like. Writing and grammar are very important as well, for they are needed in order to communicate in every facet of life. Many of these students come from homes with little to no support and/or guidance and need the extra push at school in order for them to go to the next level. In order to help students to understand the importance of the work that they do in class, I like to make real-life connections outside of the classroom by using various scenarios. I do so, by relating gaming, purchasing of food/clothes/toys, and reading/writing about stories that interest them.
