I would like to be able to give our high school swim team parkas for their next swim season. Swim season is held in the middle of winter and it can get pretty cold on the deck and when you leave the pool. The parkas will be a team set and I hope to have them embroidered with the school name and or logo. Each parka will be handed out to each swimmer and will be returned at the end of the season in order to pass on to future swimmers. Swimming in our area is a smaller sport and this project would allow the team to feel as though they belong amongst the bigger sports and schools that have more resources. Many of the students have asked if they can get some sort of warm-up, but many of the students cannot afford them. This will ensure all of my students stay warm, healthy, and allow them to have a sense of pride in themselves, their school and their team. Hopefully, this will not only help them in the pool but also in the classroom and in their lives!
